Copperfest Summer CycloX

the final round of the summer series took place on a sunny windy day on the Amlwch course, again superbly run by Rich and Nige well done guys. Another small field saw an excellent race, which was spoiled by mechanical problems for various front runners. But riding a superb race Harvey Wharton of the Llyn CC scored his first cyclo cross win. the initial lead was taken by welcome visitor Dean Smith who with the last round winner Steve Bradbrook led for the first three laps with eventual winner Harvey Wharton in close company. Dean was the first to suffer mechanical problems with front gear problems, leaving Steve in the lead. Leading vet was Ian Evans after Mark Baker punctured. Harvey then lead all the way to the flag, making it 2 winners from the Llyn CC this summer

A quality field despite poor numbers lined up for the final evening cross at Prestatyn, held on a very technical course devised by Mark Baker; a little taster for whats to come this winter!!
Last weeks winner Steve Bradbrook made a lightning start ahead of multi National schoolboy champion Dylan Kerfoot-Robson and Ian Evans with Mark Baker & Pete Windsor chasing hard behind.Steve continued his relentless pace to pull away from the chasing pack,Pete made his usual charge but was unable to claw Steve back.Dylan impressed to take third and younger brother Sol took the schoolboy honors.

Once again a tough technical course awaited the riders at Prestatyn, this time Dave Prendegast setting out a tight twisty, flowing course reminisent of a few national trophy courses from the past.
Despite the three top riders in the region missing, some close racing and personal battles ensued, with Steve Bradbrook emerging as the winner after a race long tussle with Ian Evans, with Mark Baker a bit further back.

Matt Pritchard took the lead on the 4th riding lap and was never headed but his lead was never more than a minute at anytime, being chased by Llyn CC's winner of the previous race Pete Windsor. TLI last night was a huge success, we had 40 riders and the weather was kind to Us. Liam Holohan of Team Raleigh took the glory on the first event of the Ynys
Mon Island Games Cycling series on Wednesday night at the Trac Mon race circuit at Ty Croes averaging 26.25mph for the 31.5 mile race. A very good turnout of over 40 riders took part in this the first event of four in the series, attracting riders from all over North Wales. Holohan, Mullen and Holt took advantage of an early break from the main bunch and held that advantage until the finish line.
1st Liam Holohan - Team Raleigh
2nd Ryan Mullen - Team Planet X
3rd John Holt - Lleyn Cycling Club

Many thanks for Trac Mon for their support, the next race will be held on Wednesday 23rd June

Round 7

At long last, our photos of the Revolution-Bikes/TLI cross (round 7) at Amlwch are now online. There still seems to be a problem (i.e. slow-running, glitching etc.) with the Slideshow feature; however, there is another method of viewing images at a large size - details are on top of the album. Here's the link: http://will49.zenfolio.com/p684255911

Round 6

Sorry for the delay, but our photos from last Sunday's cross event at Prestatyn are now on line (link below). Zenfolio recently upgraded the Slideshow feature to a full screen display. Sadly, however, it seems that there are some teething problems with it, but an alternative form of viewing images (at still a fairly large size) is possible... please follow the directions on top of the album.
