The Tour de France and Cycle Racing in Britain in the 1950s, 60s and 70s (U)
Films screening this afternoon include: Tour of Legends (Erik van Empel, Ned, 2003, 68m); Behind the Scenes at the 2009 Tour de France (Ray Pascoe, UK, 2009, 40m).
From Britain: RTTC Junior 25, Hill Climb, and 12 Hour championships (G. and J. Turner, UK, 1979, 30 m); Miscellaneous newsreel footage of racing in Britain in the 60s and 70s (15m).
Also: Daily Cycling in Copenhagen (Mikael Colville-Andersen, Denmark, 2009, 14m).
London's cycling film aficionados return to Riverside Studios with a selection of shorts and features ranging from the Tour de France, through to British Time Trial Championships and everyday cycling in Copenhagen. A particular treat is the screening of “Tour of Legends” Erik van Empel takes us to the annals of the Tour De France: the yellowed magazines, scratched glass plates and damaged film footage… featuring legendary cyclists Gino Bartali , Louison Bobet and Jean Robic.

Tuesday evenings starting from 4th May 2010 running through to 31st August 2010.
All categories Handicap Races starting at 19.25hrs. Distance is 1 hour plus 1 lap.
Entry fee is £10. Nota Bene: No Access to Circuit before 19.15hrs as the Runway is Operational.
